Nook and Cranny

Nook and Cranny
Bass Fishing in City Park

In every Nook and Cranny,
Of every human ilk.
In camouflage from head to toe,
Each line, like finest, silk.

Gathered here in City Park,
Near downtown New Orleans.
This Saturday as Spring begins,
Idyllic were the scenes.

This city's fishermen appeared,
All challenged to have fun.
Cafe DuMonde did welcome them,
To greet the rising sun.

Along the Bayou's, on each bridge,
These anglers had all come.
The fish they caught brought harmony,
Like rhythms from a drum.

Park record’s were defeated there,
While Beignets were consumed.
As happiness found everywhere,
Was real and not assumed.

This day for celebration came,
Where beauty does abound.
In City Park, one day in March,
True happiness was found.

A Gathering of Friends
New Orleans Louisiana
