Love's Contrasts

Without love there's an emptiness,
And hopes that disappear.
But with it close, the confidence,
There's nothing more to fear.

And with love, strength and energy
With dreams beyond compare.
Yet then without, a loneliness,
Frustration and despair.

And every day, it touches us,
In heart and mind and soul.
Yet when from love, too long apart,
Life does exact a toll.

But still, beyond this universe,
Where day and night are one.
Pure love flows through eternity,
With moments new begun.

So next when you're awakening,
Uncertain and unsure
Please listen to your whispered thoughts,
Where love's forevermore.

For day and night, though contrasts,
Are really much the same.
The blended essence of pure love,
That never need's a name.
