A Fergus Cat Trilogy

A Fergus the Cat Trilogy

Night Time Escapades

A little push,
A little nudge,
He silently, does creep.
Then quickly through
the bedroom door,
Where Harry’s fast asleep.

He softly tiptoes
Cross that room.
Is anyone aware?
From top the bureau,
To a bench,
The depth of night he’ll share.

Then leaping through the darkness,
One step,
And he’s soon gone.
Into the hallway
emptiness,
This cat is moving on.

He lingers by the foyer door,
Then to a chair
does climb.
Soon peering through
a window pane,
Where Leia shares the time.

One hop two steps,
He’s kitchen bound,
Adventuring again.
This house tour happens
every night,
A little past Three Ten.

Then through the living room
He glides,
Back home with Annabel.
Where tales
of his adventuring,
Tomorrow he will tell.

In Daylight Disappears

Throughout the day he disappears,
Not visible or seen.
Except that orange white raccoon tail.
That’s often on the scene.

Mysterious and Magical,
young Fergus roams the night
Yet in the daylight can’t be found,
he’s always out of sight

He’s resting in his hideaway,
Just waiting for the dark.
Till trains with whistles can be heard,
Just south of City Park.

And though each catway is unknown,
He reconnoiters those.
That later when the darkness comes,
Will keep him on his toes.

It’s there he first converses with,
The creatures of the night.
To find those secret passageways,
That keep him out of sight.

And then this feline Fergus,
Both curious and strange.
Does wander through the darkest hour,
To nightmares rearrange.

The Pirate Cat

Now Fergus is the progeny,
of pirate cats of yore.
Swashbuckling ratters from the past,
who passed this way before

They’ve shared with him their ancient tales,
of old town New Orleans
When Jean LaFitte was pirate king,
and gumbo was just beans.

They told him of those ships they’d sailed
and battles that they fought.
Of mousing there upon the seas,
where pirate ways are taught.

He listened well and understood,
exactly what to do.
So each night while adventuring,
he’ll history renew.

And now on deep and darkened nights,
He always finds the past.
Where dreams fulfill through tales reborn
and cat tales ever last.

Fergus is an orange and white tabby cat with a racoon striped tail. He lives comfortably in Metairie, Louisiana with sister Leia, brother Leo, best friend Yoda the dog and neighborhood feline friends Gra and Socks. A mysterious and mystical cat he daily awaits his opportunity to go adventuring after the midnight hour. When the train whistle blows at 3AM, his journey begins. No two journeys are ever the same and the tales he tells are filled with history, mystery and excitement. No one knows but him which spirits from neighboring New Orleans he might encounter along the way.
